The First Post
I’m fascinated by climate tech. It addresses a huge problem, but it also represents a huge opportunity.
I tend to view the world through its data, its facts. I intend to explore the climate tech world through that lens and learn a bit in the process.
Benjamin Disraeli (or was it Mark Twain?) might have questioned the earnestness of such an effort. Sure, statistics can lie, if presented without proper context or boldly manufactured. But when used genuinely, data can tell incredible stories, or even change the world for the better.
I write this on the day the sky turned orange here on the East Coast, caused by the smoke from the Canadian wildfires during this uncommonly dry stretch of late. As Bill McKibben puts it, “they are a result of the hot dry weather that climate change has made more likely.” I don’t personally have the data to prove that, but that’s the sort of thing I hope to explore here, to understand truth, and to gain insight.
I am writing this for me, to learn by doing. You are welcome to come along for the ride. We’ll see how this goes.
